The Greenwich Regulator

Featuring a traditional Palladian-style cabinet crafted by Zone Creations, Royal Warrant holders to Her Majesty The Queen, this special edition of The Greenwich Regulator is manufactured with immaculate detail from the highest quality crystal clear cast polymer to allow light to flood the case, illuminating its remarkable movement.

With unique epicyclic gears incorporating John Arnold’s unique power maintenance mechanism allowing the movement to be rewound without loss of accuracy, The Greenwich Regulator is a superb example of the English regulator clock, with its accuracy enhanced by a temperature-compensated pendulum based upon an elegant design attributed to John Ellicott in 1752.

Manufactured in hand-polished solid brass, the movement is available in a choice of rhodium or gold plated finishes and regulated by a Graham dead beat escapement fitted with tungsten carbide pallets in the Vulliamy style. Blued screws are used throughout with blued steel hands sweeping the pure silver-plated and engraved solid brass dial with its elegant Roman numerals to indicate the passage of time.

In Celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

In 2012, 60 years since her accession to the throne, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Diamond Jubilee with the British people marking the great occasion with celebrations throughout the United Kingdom. Of all the monarchs in British history, only the present Queen’s great great grandmother, Queen Victoria herself, had also reigned for long enough to celebrate such an auspicious occasion.

It is, therefore, eminently fitting that this unique and magnificent architectural floor clock designed to mark the great event should incorporate undoubtedly the finest regulator movement manufactured by a British clockmaker since Victorian times. Zone Creations has manufactured a very limited special edition of 120 pieces, with each piece duly numbered and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

QEST-LogoSales of The Greenwich Regulator will benefit the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST), the charitable arm of the Royal Warrant Holders Association that supports excellence in British craftsmanship and conservation.
