The diversity of our commissions is testament to our reputation for high quality and specialist work. We’ve fabricated an exciting variety of components for finished interior and exterior environments – from office partitions and in-store display units, to bespoke fence panels, signage and everything in between.

We’re more than happy working directly with architects and also supplying components to commissioned contractors. Whatever your requirement, our team will be pleased to help.

Model making

Zone Creations have the facilities to machine all of your model components to exact tolerances within very short timescales. With the additional 3m x 2m laser machine, we are now able to accommodate even the largest components in a variety of materials. Follow this link for more details LINK!..to 3m x 2m laser news..

Laser cutting is currently the fastest process for manufacturing components directly from CAD drawings, and we now offer a 24-hour express service. Our machines have been specifically designed for this high-speed environment. Our unique machines incorporate vacuum beds to hold components still and also produce a very high quality cut on ABS, Styrene and acrylic.

Building facades, glazing, floor-plates and frame components are frequently machined, along with contoured base plates from timber, expanded foam and Acrylic. We can vary the power of our laser, allowing us to mark the surface with a variety of depths and thickness, and we have one of the only machines that can cleanly machine both styrene and ABS up to a thickness of 6mm.

If an accurate profile is specified or several layers required within one material, we use CNC routing.

The most commonly used materials within this field are Acrylic, Styrene, ABS, micro-plywood, MDF, Cardboard, timber veneer and metal laminates.

Drawings should ideally be supplied in DXF format with each process / cutting element allocated an independent layer. For example a building faÇade with brick scoring, windows and overall profile should be layered as – LAYER 1 – SCORE, LAYER 2 – INCUT, LAYER 3 – OUTCUT. It is not critical to put internal and external cuts on separate layers but where several apertures are being removed the overall tolerance will be improved by this practice.

We also fabricate museum quality Perspex model cases to any dimensions.
